Position Overview
The role of the janitorial staff is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities. This full-time position involves at least 30 hours of work per week, where you will play a vital part in enhancing the overall experience for our members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all areas to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Disinfect gym equipment and surfaces to uphold high hygiene standards and minimize the risk of illness.
  • Maintain locker rooms, showers, and restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Organize and clean gym lockers, ensuring lost items are handled appropriately.
  • Regularly empty trash bins and dispose of waste according to established protocols.
  • Sanitize surfaces such as windows, mirrors, and seating areas to maintain a visually appealing space.
  • Dust and clean common areas, including reception and waiting areas, to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ensure cleanliness in program rooms by maintaining floors and equipment.
  • Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report shortages to management.
  • Respond promptly to spills and cleaning emergencies to ensure safety.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to address maintenance issues and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience with janitorial tools and cleaning supplies.
  • Knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with members and staff professionally.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and push a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various conditions, including tight spaces and different temperatures.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks as required.
Compensation
The starting pay for this position is $23 per hour, with compensation based on various factors including experience and facility type.
