About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at DEKA Research & Development. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of innovative medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and industrial design, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to design problems, considering factors such as risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight, and cost.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing of designs, identifying and addressing potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our products.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing electromechanical products, with a strong background in mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in designing parts using various manufacturing methods, including machining, welding, injection molding, forming, forging, and casting.
  • Proficient user of SolidWorks or other comparable CAD software.
  • Experience with finite element analysis and tolerance analysis.
  • Ability to take 4+ projects from design to production, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience designing medical equipment and dynamic systems with electro-mechanical devices is a plus.
