Job Title: Project Manager and Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager and Estimator to join our team at D. Reis Furniture Manufacturing. As a Project Manager and Estimator, you will be responsible for managing high-end residential projects across the Long Island and New York area.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in millwork project management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the high-end residential market. You will be responsible for reviewing bid documents, providing millwork estimates, and preparing request for proposals for subcontractors. You will also be responsible for qualifying subcontractor bids, reconciling with in-house estimates, and maintaining company databases.

As a Project Manager and Estimator, you will work closely with the site superintendent and project management team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients, general contractors, and in-house teams to ensure that all project requirements are met.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial skills, as well as strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. You will also have a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Review bid documents to establish a thorough understanding of the project scope and requirements
  • Provide millwork estimates per architectural bid documents
  • Prepare request for proposals for subcontractors on company bid list
  • Qualify subcontractor bids and reconcile with in-house estimate
  • Maintain company databases, including subcontractor vetting and agreements
  • Communicate with clients, general contractors, and in-house teams to ensure project requirements are met
  • Manage project costs and maintain detailed analysis of profitability
  • Lead monthly budget and schedule review meetings with owner and architect
Requirements
  • 5+ years of millwork project management experience in high-end residential market
  • 5+ years of AutoCAD experience required
  • Proficient in understanding architectural drawings required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial skills
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
