As a Web Press Production Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the setup and operation of our printing presses, collaborating closely with the Press Operator and assisting team members to ensure that each project meets customer specifications while adhering to internal and external deadlines.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining quality control and minimizing waste or downtime on the press. You will follow departmental guidelines and procedures to ensure timely processing of customer jobs while meeting established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain web presses along with all auxiliary equipment.
- Interpret color bars, star targets, side guide marks, and slur indicators to ensure print quality.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols while continuously seeking operational improvements.
- Program accurate color standards into the Computerized Press Control (CPC) to make necessary color adjustments.
- Achieve color approval that matches proofs.
- Facilitate teamwork within crews and across shifts.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience as a multicolor web press operator is preferred.
- Ability to lead and nurture team growth and development.
- Knowledge of press setup and maintenance procedures.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and oriented towards quality and safety.
- Must be able to fulfill all physical job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
