PET/CT Technologist Job Description

At New York Imaging, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care through cutting-edge diagnostic imaging technologies. As a PET/CT Technologist, you'll play a vital role in our team's mission to provide precise diagnostic solutions that drive better outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds to patients.
  • Perform imaging procedures using advanced radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during scans, reporting abnormal signs to physicians.
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting with radiologists for appropriate scan procedures.
  • Gain patients' confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing procedures, and answering questions.
  • Monitor patients' physical condition during procedures.
  • Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or be useful to physicians in interpreting results.
  • Keep track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans.

Requirements:

  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N).
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT).
  • NYS License.
  • At least 2 years' experience.
