Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of Ultrasound procedures to diagnose and evaluate medical conditions.
  • Prepare ultrasound exam rooms, obtain informed consent, and gather accurate clinical history.
  • Review patient history and determine appropriate sonography protocols.
  • Explain examination methods, position patients, and ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Ensure the quality of ultrasound images and coordinate the preparation of images/exams for physician review.
  • Document and communicate patient-related information thoroughly and accurately.
  • Monitor ultrasound equipment performance, report issues, and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • ARDMS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital setting.
  • Valid NY state license in ultrasound technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Strong understanding of radiology safety protocols.
  • Excellent technical skills in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high standards of patient care and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel to and from the workplace.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
