Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care activities, including vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference measurements.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, skin care, and oral care.
  • Prepare and administer medications, as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including urine and stool samples.
  • Assist with tracheostomy care, EVDs, and central line dressing.
  • Monitor and report any changes or abnormalities in patient condition.
  • Document patient information and vital signs in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNA certification (any state) required.
  • Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pediatrics.
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and mouse use.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and basic calculations.
  • Human relations and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One semester clinical experience completed at an accredited school of nursing or military corpsman training.
  • Patient Care Technician (CPCT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.
