Position Summary:
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will provide essential personal care to patients under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Your role will involve assisting with daily living activities and reporting any changes in patient status to the RN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including nutrition, hydration, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Perform technical tasks such as feeding through specialized tubes, administering warm and cold therapies, and conducting basic blood tests.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
- Support the nursing team by performing clerical duties and maintaining an organized work environment.
- Provide relevant assessment data to the nursing staff within your scope of practice.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the nursing team.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent: Preferred
- Relevant education or experience in healthcare: Preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Phlebotomy certification: Preferred
- Additional certifications in audiometry and vision training: Preferred
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety certification: Required
