Job Summary

Microsoft Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Director to lead our strategic supply chain efforts in the Americas region. As a key member of our Cloud Operations and Innovation team, you will be responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing demands of our cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of procurement professionals to develop and implement sourcing strategies for long-lead equipment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive strategy development and compliance through supplier selection, contract management, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and execute supplier account plans to improve performance and achieve business goals.
  • Monitor and mitigate the impact of change orders on projects, and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve or escalate accordingly.
  • Lead the team and suppliers for on-time delivery performance and reporting, and create mechanisms for risk mitigation related to equipment scheduling delays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field, and 9+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
  • OR Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field, and 7+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct sourcing and procurement on construction or industrial projects in excess of $50M.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional and global team environment on dynamic large-scale capital or manufacturing programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Center, Mission Critical, Manufacturing, or Industrial projects.
  • 5+ years of experience as a people leader.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or financial field, and Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods.
  • High energy and drive to achieve results in midst of ambiguity and matrixed org.
  • Technical ability to write contracts, set up sourcing plans, and negotiate strategies.
  • Effective communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies and ability to facilitate change management.
  • Ability to implement new processes and get buy-in from a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to drive sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for multiple categories.
  • Able to integrate successfully into large-scale construction projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.

Benefits and Compensation

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
