The Senior Catering Operations Leader will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Catering Services team within the Food Service department. This position is crucial for ensuring that all catering operations are executed flawlessly, maintaining high standards of service and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Food Service Supervisor in managing and guiding the Catering Services team.
  • Lead and coordinate catering activities, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and standards.
  • Act as the primary onsite representative for catering events, ensuring seamless execution of all event details.
  • Serve food and beverages at high-profile receptions and events, including community and health system gatherings.
  • Monitor food quality, safety, and service timelines while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Train and mentor staff, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory and catering supplies, ensuring timely preparation and presentation for events.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Extensive experience in food service operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong customer service skills with effective communication abilities.

Preferred:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with food safety regulations and audits.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food allergens.
  • ServSafe certification is a plus.

Special Requirements

This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. A valid California Driver's License is necessary for travel to various catering locations.
