Position Overview

Brockton Area Multi-Services is dedicated to supporting infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) who may face developmental challenges or are at risk for such delays. Our services are delivered in various settings, including family homes, educational programs, telehealth, and our fully equipped Early Intervention Center.

We pride ourselves on our interdisciplinary team, which includes:

  • Developmental Specialists
  • Physical Therapists
  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Child Life Specialists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Social Workers/Licensed Mental Health Counselors
  • Nurses
  • Specialty Service Providers

Our Early Intervention clinical training encompasses essential topics such as child development from 0-3 years, specialized therapeutic techniques, family-centered treatment, and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development. We are open to training candidates who meet the necessary qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant, your primary duties will include:

  1. Creating, documenting, and executing Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for infants and young children.
  2. Advocating for families and children during evaluations and transitions out of the program.
  3. Planning and facilitating specialized group activities for children.
  4. Collaborating within an interdisciplinary team, offering consultation, training, and support to colleagues.
  5. Developing and assisting families with tailored home programs.
  6. Maintaining electronic health records as required.
  7. Participating in meetings and training sessions as directed by your supervisor.
  8. Adhering to safety standards and utilizing universal precautions in all duties.
  9. Following agency policies and procedures in all aspects of work.
  10. Completing additional related tasks as assigned by your supervisor or designated personnel.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid Massachusetts license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • The ability to accurately observe children, ensuring their safety.
  • The capability to respond swiftly in emergencies, including potential threats to safety.
  • The agility to assist children who may require immediate support.
  • Skills to provide guidance to parents on child development and advocacy.
  • Experience collaborating with community resources and agencies to address the needs of children and families.
  • The physical ability to engage with children through various activities.
