Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, treating customers as guests with respect and courtesy, while maintaining outstanding standards and product knowledge.
  • Analyze business trends, develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
  • Control shrink, expenses, and payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies, and presentations, while maintaining a well-stocked selling floor.
  • Monitor competition activities, report results, and share information with the supervisor to inform pricing decisions.
  • Review department/store trends, recommend and initiate changes to maximize goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, policies, and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits.
  • Continuously evaluate and react to performance issues, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Recruit and train management candidates, developing store management in all aspects of the business.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
