We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equal Opportunity Investigator to join our team at InsideHigherEd. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into reports of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct (including Title IX);
  • Develop and deliver training programs across campus on antidiscrimination, sexual misconduct, and EO/TIX managerial essentials;
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Students Office to coordinate student programs related to the University's Title IX efforts, religious accommodations, and other related matters;
  • Work closely with the Director to respond to consultations and prepare well-written investigative reports making final determinations in investigations with minimal supervision;
  • Coordinate interim measures and accommodations with complainants, respondents, and other relevant University offices, departments, and personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Human Resources, or a related field;
  • Four years' of professional related experience;
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations related to EEO/TIX/AA programs;
  • Experience with EEO/TIX/AA compliance and statistical analysis;
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of populations orally and in writing;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of or professional experience conducting investigations related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence, and/or discrimination/harassment/retaliation in a higher education setting or other related field;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of populations orally and in writing, and demonstrated public speaking experience;
  • Thorough understanding of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations (e.g., Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the Clery Act, and VAWA) and federal and state rules and regulations related to EEO/TIX/AA programs;
  • Experience with the preparation of reporting for the Affirmative Action Plan, including retrieving and editing data and creating reports such as the workforce analysis, adverse impact analysis, applicant flow, etc.
