PROGRAM SUMMARY:
HomeFirst Services is a premier provider of essential services, shelter, and housing solutions for the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in Santa Clara County.
The on-site custodian will perform a diverse range of custodial and housekeeping tasks as required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine janitorial duties, including restocking supplies and daily cleaning.
- Collect and dispose of trash and litter from premises.
- Manage waste disposal, including relocating dumpsters for municipal pickup.
- Ensure recycling areas, trash rooms, and dumpster sites are clean and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness of common area floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Perform cleaning in offices, laundry rooms, and throughout the property.
- Regularly check for litter and health and safety concerns.
- Keep track of tools, equipment, and supplies, notifying the supervisor when orders are needed.
- Maintain a tidy and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Ensure utility and meter rooms are free from dirt and debris.
- Service and supply common area restrooms.
- Shampoo carpets and wax floors as necessary.
- Report required repairs to management.
- Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager and site staff regarding property conditions.
- Utilize and store cleaning products according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform miscellaneous janitorial tasks or other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Complete additional tasks as needed.
- Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Willingness to follow directions.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Dependable with clear and respectful communication skills.
