Job Summary:

As a Health Educator II, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and evaluating health education programs and services that promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention. You will work closely with healthcare teams to assess, develop, and deliver evidence-based health education programs that meet the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop targeted health education programs to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Design and implement health education materials, including written and audio-visual content, to engage and educate patients and the community.
  • Provide direct health education services to patients and the community, including group and one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement health education programs that align with Kaiser Permanente's strategic goals and priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health education programs and services, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Public Health, Community Health Science, or Health Promotion, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in health education, with a focus on behavior change and health promotion.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of PC applications and experience with health education software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination.
  • Experience working in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
