The Technician I role at Chipton-Ross involves providing essential service and repair for a range of mechanical and electronic equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be modified to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management:
- Conduct skilled technician work, including diagnosis, replacement, repair, and refurbishment of various equipment and systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and a variety of trade-specific instruments.
- Apply principles of electrical and electronic theory in practical scenarios.
- Interpret and adhere to technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical schematics, and drawings.
- Employ knowledge of equipment design and functionality.
- Comply with industry and government guidelines, particularly regarding safety, health, and environmental practices.
- Support research and development efforts for new repair capabilities, which may involve studying new manuals and participating in training sessions.
- Assist in maintaining shop equipment and inventory.
- Complete various maintenance documentation, including Service Reports, in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should possess:
- A foundational understanding of Aviation Maintenance.
- Proficiency in using common hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and pressure gauges.
- The ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
- A good grasp of corrosion control techniques.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Word and Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

An example includes a two-year degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, such as FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification or military/civil aircraft maintenance experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands of this position include:
- Regular communication and auditory engagement.
- Active involvement requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of items exceeding 50 pounds.
- Specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Accredited high school diploma or GED.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time position with a standard workweek.
