About the Position:

The IT Support Technician operates under the guidance of the Director of Technology and Security, delivering technical assistance to users, including faculty and staff. Responsibilities encompass classroom support and technical troubleshooting for various devices.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Installing software, troubleshooting applications, and configuring computers and peripherals. Diagnosing and resolving both basic and advanced software and hardware issues; Supporting audiovisual systems, printers, projectors, and other technical equipment. Setting up, upgrading, troubleshooting, and imaging computer systems operating on Windows 10/11 and macOS; Understanding computer systems, mobile devices, and other technical infrastructures; Installing, configuring, and maintaining classroom technologies including projectors, control panels, TVs, and Apple devices such as iPads, iPhones, and Apple TVs; Installing, replacing, and configuring computer hardware including storage drives, RAM, expansion cards, motherboards, processors, displays, and peripherals; Creating and managing user accounts/permissions while enforcing security best practices; and Troubleshooting and reporting network connectivity issues. Setting up network access for users and installing applications for file sharing, cloud computing, and security.

Required Qualifications:

Three years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Strong interpersonal skills and advanced knowledge of Windows and Apple Mac platforms; Proven experience servicing Mac OS systems built with Intel and new silicon chips; Experience in setting up Apple computers; Proven experience servicing Windows 10 and 11 operating systems, including imaging Windows computers; Experience in installing and maintaining audiovisual systems for classrooms; Computer Help Desk experience; and At least 1 year of experience in Information Technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a computing field is preferred; Previous experience in managing computer labs, including JAMF registration and systems management and SCCM; Understanding of IT security concepts with a focus on information security and risk assessment while enforcing security best practices; Familiarity with Web 2.0 applications and licensing agreements for Higher Education; and Experience in a Higher Education environment.
