Job Title: Recovery Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Recovery Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting patients with substance abuse, mental health, and emotional instability. Working under the direction of the CEO, this individual supports nursing and medical staff in providing individualized care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patient activities and provide safety checks throughout the shift.
  • Participate in direct patient care, including patient flow, group facilitation, and therapeutic individual interaction.
  • Facilitate the operation of the clinical schedule and assist patients with individual sessions.
  • Assist with verbal de-escalation and Against Advice interventions.
  • Perform admissions, including searches, heat treatment, and patient belongings documentation.
  • Assist with the discharge process, including packing belongings and survey completion.
  • Monitor patient activities at all times, including groups, recreational activities, and outings.
  • Assist with visitation programs, including greeting, sign-in, orientation, and search processing.
  • Complete documentation, including shift reports, group notes, and individual notes.
  • May act as an approved driver for patient outings, responsible for safe transport and observation.
  • Be proficient with technology hardware, company systems, and tools required for duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer relations skills.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and one year of experience working with addiction services.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Understanding of behavior modification or 12-step modality.
  • Excellent customer relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, with moderate noise levels. The employee is required to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and frequently uses hands to handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, with some out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected.
