Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Focus Treatment Center. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the clinical team in patient care, including psycho-educational group presentations and monitoring of patients.
  • Perform admissions and orientation of patients to the unit, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Take patient vital signs and document according to facility policy, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Observe patient behaviors and document in accordance with facility policy, providing valuable insights for treatment planning.
  • Conduct crisis intervention with the supervision of Director of Nursing/ADON or Charge Nurse, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Escort patients to appointments and outings, providing transportation and support as needed.
  • Conduct educational lectures for patients and families, promoting awareness and understanding of addiction and recovery.
  • Document all interactions with patients in accordance with department and facility procedure, using a computer keyboard to maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma accepted, but Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Good understanding of addictive process and recovery skills.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the addiction field.
  • Individuals in recovery from substance abuse must have a minimum of two years of continuous chemical abstinence and must be active in support groups.

Working Conditions

This position involves direct and indirect patient contact, requiring the ability to tolerate stressful situations and various conditions that may be unpleasant to the sense of sight, touch, and smell. The position also involves standing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
