Role Summary:
The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe execution of surgical operations. This position primarily involves assisting surgeons and registered nurses during surgical procedures.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to: Manager of Surgical Services
Employment Classification:
FLSA: Non-exempt
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Completion of a recognized Surgical Technology program is preferred.
Essential Skills:
Must possess critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal oversight. The role requires the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and respond appropriately.
Certifications:
Surgical Tech certification is required within six months of employment.
An Associate's Degree along with two years of relevant experience is necessary if certification is not obtained at the time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of employment.
