School Behavior Specialist

Job Summary:

Amergis is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate School Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our educational services team, you will work closely with children and adults with special needs, collaborating with school professionals and behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavior management techniques, including prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students in developing independent daily living skills.
  • Assist in facilitating academic instruction and support students across various environments.
  • Collect and document behavioral and academic data accurately and efficiently.
  • Adhere to confidentiality requirements and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of pediatric experience preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR and TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
