Your expertise in applied behavior analysis will enable you to create effective plans and strategies to support students in acquiring essential skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral assessments and provide functional behavioral assessments to identify student needs.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Provide directed learning experiences through lesson plans and behavioral programming to support students in acquiring social, emotional, independent living, communication, and learning skills.
  • Attend to the academic, physical, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
  • Maintain suitable learning environments and prepare materials to support student learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, education, or a related field.
  • Coursework in applied behavior analysis, school counseling, and/or other educational fields.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or current enrollment towards certification.
  • Two or more years of experience working with students with special needs in a classroom or similar learning environment using behavior modification, management, and functional analysis.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.

  • 219 paid days per year, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

This recruitment serves to fill 2 current vacancies and to establish an eligibility list to fill future openings that may occur in the next 6 months. The current openings are located in San Luis Obispo at Chris Jespersen School.
