As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols to children diagnosed with Autism and related developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements. You will work closely with our team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collect data on client behavior, and provide support to parents and caregivers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
  • Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as assigned.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent/caregiver training in line with client individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effective communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBAs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with treatment team including clients, parents, and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavior Technicians, ABA Interns, and co-workers.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA laws.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Outlook systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development.
Training

Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings, including but not limited to:

  • 40 Hour RBT Training
  • CPR Certification
  • Detroit Wayne County Trainings
