We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our culinary team as a Sous Chef. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-end dining establishments and a passion for culinary excellence.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should have a minimum of four years of experience in upscale restaurant settings, along with a culinary training degree. Proficiency in English and/or Spanish is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present meals that meet the restaurant's high standards and customer expectations.
- Accurately measure and portion ingredients for food preparation.
- Ensure that kitchen staff comply with established protocols, procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Oversee kitchen inventory management, ensuring that all supplies are fresh and of premium quality.
- Maintain proper cooking temperatures and food storage practices.
- Lead the kitchen team during opening, closing, and other operational duties as directed by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
Essential Skills:
- 4+ years of experience in a high-volume or fine dining environment.
- Advanced knife skills and culinary techniques.
- Ability to read and execute recipes and standards effectively.
- Capability to produce a significant volume of work efficiently.
- Commitment to practicing food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for daytime and weekend shifts.
