Job Summary

Noblis is seeking a Senior Aeronautics Engineer to support the NASA Air Traffic Systems and Surveillance Services directorates within the Program Management Organization (PMO). The successful candidate will work on developing research concepts and prototype software that provides autonomous Air Traffic Management (ATM) services to all types of airspace users, enabling safe integration of autonomous vehicles into the National Airspace System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research, development, and evaluation of advanced air traffic control and management automation concepts.
  • Engage with NASA teams and partners on requirements development and systems design for aviation simulation and prototype demonstration systems.
  • Lead system development and produce system performance metrics, measures of effectiveness, and measures of performance.
  • Develop the data management strategy and architecture, including identifying data collection needs, data models, and requirements.
  • Interact with senior researchers, customers, and other project engineers to develop and execute research plans.
  • Conduct system performance assessments and prepare presentations and reports as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Expertise in scripting languages like Python and MATLAB, databases like NoSQL and SQL.
  • Experience with predictive analytics techniques, data mining, text analytics, and predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency in software architecture, object-oriented design, and unit testing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
