Job Title: Veterinary Technician Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team at AVS Mountainland Animal Hospital in Kingwood, WV.

Job Summary:

The Veterinary Technician Assistant will provide exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and veterinary technicians. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including assisting with medical procedures, collecting and processing laboratory samples, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including surgery and anesthesia.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood smears, urinalysis, and fecal/parasite analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and vaccines to patients, as directed by veterinarians.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to clients, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
  • Use computerized medical records and invoicing systems to manage patient information and billing.
Qualifications:
  • State of West Virginia Technician License preferred but not required.
  • 1+ year experience in small animal practice.
  • Experience in surgical procedures is preferred but not required.
  • Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high-quality patient care.
  • Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude.
