Job Summary

AVS Mountainland Animal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team in Kingwood, WV. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, and blood smears
  • Take digital radiographs and digital dental x-rays
  • Assist with surgery, including anesthesia and patient monitoring
  • Administer vaccines and medications
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide education on animal care and health
  • Utilize computerized medical records and invoicing systems

Requirements:

  • State of West Virginia Technician License preferred but not required
  • 1+ year experience in small animal practice
  • Experience and interest in small animal surgery procedures
  • Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high-quality patient care
  • Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive and compassionate attitude
