Position Summary: The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP) Housing Navigator plays a crucial role in delivering essential program services, overseeing program execution, and providing training to the YHDP Housing Navigators at FosterAdopt Connect. This initiative focuses on trauma-informed, community-based assistance, case management, and housing solutions for youth facing housing instability and homelessness until they reach the age of 24. Housing Navigators are instrumental in helping clients secure stable and safe long-term housing, identifying resources tailored for youth, and coordinating necessary support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all program guidelines and protocols to implement effective housing interventions that facilitate swift housing placements for clients.
  • Establish and nurture community partnerships to enhance service delivery for client success.
  • Provide comprehensive and flexible case management services to youth, accommodating their scheduling needs.
  • Implement a Housing First approach with clients.
  • Maintain accurate client files and records in the SAM database and other required systems.
  • Prepare monthly reports as mandated.
  • Connect youth with valuable resources through community partners and internal channels.
  • Identify goals and actionable steps to assist clients in securing suitable housing.
  • Travel as necessary to participate in training sessions, meetings, and provide direct client care at least once a month.
  • Offer transportation assistance to clients who may struggle with reliable transit options.
  • Enhance program referrals by making community connections through outreach activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training as directed by the Program Manager or Senior Director of Youth Housing.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to serve clients efficiently.
  • Maintain open communication with the direct supervisor regarding service delivery, concerns, or inquiries.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience in non-profit social service organizations and management experience.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is essential; lived experience with housing instability is a plus.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, innovate solutions, and invest in people and systems effectively.
  • Strong commitment to youth advocacy and support principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and advocacy in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional conduct consistently.
  • Possess a valid Missouri Driver's License and car insurance.
  • Willingness to adjust work hours to accommodate client needs.
