Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Consumer Loan Closing Specialist to join our team at Smart Financial Credit Union. As a key member of our loan operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth processing and closing of consumer loans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and fund credit applications received through various channels
  • Collaborate with Credit Union Branches, Credit Underwriters, and Lending Operations departments to provide efficient and quality services to our members
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, banking regulations, and Smart Financial's policies and procedures
  • Perform daily funding of consumer loan applications into the core data system
  • Validate member-owner information and ensure Credit Underwriter's conditions are met
  • Complete detailed audits of documents received for processing
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on consumer loan services and provide assistance to branch personnel and internal team members
  • Email and mail documents to members as required
  • Post back-end products and down payments to member-owner accounts
  • Create ACH records to disburse funds to/from authorized accounts
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience
  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job
  • Basic mathematical operations/skills
  • Familiarity with Consumer Lending laws and regulations
  • Financial services core systems experience
  • Knowledge of legal compliance related to FCRA
  • Computer skills with the ability to handle extensive data entry
  • Microsoft Office skills

  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions
  • Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations and spell accurately
