About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Engineer to join our team at ABB Electrification. As a key member of our Service team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of our Service portfolio according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and solve problems in your area of expertise via remote or on-site service in any Service category.
  • Determine effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, proactively communicate with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of field engineering experience preferred (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 additional years of related experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, with strong business acumen.
  • Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays, and Transformers.
  • Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, Multilin relays, and Switzer Relays).
  • Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines (including excitation systems), controls systems, and Programmable Logic controllers a plus.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of industrial customer base in geographical area.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
