Job Overview

At Hooper Deforest, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of project contracts, ensuring that cost, quality, equipment conservation, and safety objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates, procurement of materials, and issuance of subcontracts.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and supply needs to meet or exceed client objectives.
  • Establish project objectives, costs, timelines, budgets, policies, performance expectations, and safety standards.
  • Monitor adherence to project objectives through site visits, project progress reports, performance evaluations, and safety meetings.
  • Manage administrative aspects of contracts, including change orders, fee payments, rental equipment, timesheet coding, billing, and expenses.
  • Assist in the process of releasing completed projects to the full satisfaction of clients and resolve any job closeout items.
  • Responsible for saving and filing appropriate job information, including plans, specifications, and job-related communications.

Work Environment:

  • Works in a normal office environment and makes client visits requiring driving a personal vehicle.
  • Regularly works from a sitting position with a computer, requiring repetitive typing and computer use.
  • Works on field construction sites in all kinds of weather to survey site conditions and resolve coordination issues with the trades.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS or BA in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business preferred.
  • Some related construction industry experience or internship is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and demonstrated leadership effectiveness.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software is preferred.
