Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our General Surgery team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for exams and procedures, communicating effectively with clients and clinic staff, and scheduling tests and surgeries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, and assist with procedures as needed.
- Provide age-specific education and information to patients and family members.
- Administer medications and record vital signs in accordance with licensure and physician supervision.
- Schedule tests, procedures, and admissions outside the clinic as directed by the physician.
- Clean and stock patient exam rooms, instruments, and supplies throughout the day.
- Answer patient questions and provide follow-up and returns patient calls.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Currently certified as a Medical Assistant, or must complete certification within one year of hire.
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
