Job Summary

The Medical Billing Manager will oversee the billing and claims process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a team and make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain billing procedures and protocols
  • Monitor and follow up on receivable balances
  • Reconcile claims and accounts to ensure resolution
  • Prepare monthly billing reports for management
  • Coordinate with accounting on accounts receivable
  • Supervise billing staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Actively pursue non-payments and resolve issues
  • Process monthly billing for IDoA and managed care organizations
  • Manage large datasets and explain complex issues
  • Meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification recommended
  • Knowledge of CMS 1500 billing forms, electronic billing, and claims processing
  • Experience working with various insurance types, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree
  • Speaks a second language
Training and Development
  • Complete IDoA required Homecare Supervisor Training (HOST) within 90 days
  • Complete 24 hours of in-service training on aging-related subjects annually
  • Complete additional training as assigned by management
