Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Retail Custom Framer/Personal Designer to join our team at Michaels Stores. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, creating memorable framing solutions, and maintaining a safe and clean store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Execute Company policies and standards, including those related to customer service, sales, and store operations.
  • Embrace and execute personal designer by using Elevated ABC Deliver to build relationships with all customers while creating Custom Framing solutions.
  • Deliver sales and production results, complete framing orders with a high degree of quality and on time, and maintain the ready-made frame department and other assigned areas.
  • Provide friendly customer service, help customers shop and find what they are looking for, and provide a well-merchandised and in-stock store for the customer to shop.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs, support shrink and safety programs, and interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner.
  • Participate in the truck un-load and stocking processes to ensure truck standards are followed and completed within budget.
  • Operate cash register and execute cash handling to standards, acknowledge customers, help locate product and provide solutions, and assist with Omni channel processes.
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills and basic measuring skills.
  • Ability to operate the framing equipment and glass cutter.
  • Retail experience and experience selling products and/or services to customers.
  • Physical requirements include regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching, as well as the ability to move throughout the store and remain standing for long periods of time.
Work Environment

Our store is a public retail setting with climate-controlled areas, and some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled. Some outdoor work may be assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks. The frame shop contains glass cutters and heat presses, and work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
