The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is a leading policy advocacy organization devoted to countering the lethal influence of the tobacco industry on public policy. Located in Washington, D.C., our team works tirelessly to bring an end to tobacco-related disease.
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Legislative and Policy Counsel to provide critical support to our legal and policy advocacy efforts. This position will work closely with our Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs to analyze federal, state, and local legislation affecting tobacco control efforts.
Responsibilities
* Provide in-depth analysis of legislative proposals and regulatory actions impacting tobacco control efforts
* Develop and advocate for innovative legislative and regulatory proposals to address the use of tobacco products
* Support litigation activities related to FDA regulation and defense of state and local tobacco control laws
Requirements
* 3-5 years of experience in legislative drafting and policy analysis
* Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws governing tobacco control
* Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
