Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Technologist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests, interpreting results, and providing guidance to junior staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret routine diagnostic assays on blood and body fluids
- Prepare, identify, and test specimens
- Document all information required
- Participate in evaluating, documenting, and implementing technical assays
- Provide guidance to non-certified personnel
- Assist the supervisor in resolving daily issues/conflicts
- Frontline interviewee during unannounced inspections
Requirements:
- Meets education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CLIA, and the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services (NJSDHSS) laws
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCP or NCA certification preferred
