UofL Physicians Group is seeking a highly skilled Diabetes Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at University of Louisville Hospital.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will function as a provider within a Level 1 academic medical center, caring for critically ill patients with diabetes. Working in collaboration with multiple physician groups, the Diabetes APRN will manage preexisting and new onset diabetes in critically ill, hospitalized patients in an intensive care and progressive care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical exams and collect patient data to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Organize approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order laboratory studies, and prescribe appropriate interventions and medications.
  • Provide direct patient care services, including diabetic education, in the hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with the primary physician team to formulate and initiate treatment plans for acute illness management.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • A valid Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure in the state of Kentucky.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant advanced practice nursing experience, preferably in an academic medical center and ICU setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 per year, based on national averages and local market conditions. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
