Family Support Specialist I

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Family Support Specialist I to join our team at the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional services directly to the public, reviewing, monitoring, and determining eligibility for assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Interview clients for Basic Public Assistance programs, gathering and completing required documentation.
- Participate in formal and on-the-job training, observing other staff and learning to operate computer terminals and personal computers.
- Track processing deadlines for timely case activity and case hearings, identifying resources and appropriate referrals.
- Enter case information into the computer and maintain accurate records.
- Experience working with the public, strong verbal and written communication skills, and good time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and grow with our organization.
