HVAC Controls Systems Specialist

Action Target Inc is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Engineer to work with customers, contractors, sales, project management, and engineering teams.
The successful candidate will oversee the installation and control of heating and ventilation equipment in commercial, military, and law enforcement shooting range facilities.
This role requires frequent travel to project locations and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support to project managers to ensure the execution of necessary range ventilation equipment installations and associated subsystems.
- Conduct site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and identify potential challenges.
- Review progress, quality of installation, and identify deficiencies during site visits.
- Order and track all required parts for each job.
- Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (Direct Digital Controls) and create controller sequence of operations.
- Perform commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices.
- Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
- Troubleshoot controls programming and setup problems.
- Provide field change information for as-built drawings.
- Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the range ventilation system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Provide operations & maintenance (O&M) support.
- Three years of experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems with technical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, BACNET/MODBUS protocols.
- Ability to design and implement control algorithms such as PID/State-Space or other advanced control techniques.
- Experience in Tridium Niagara programming environment (Java experience is a plus).
- Two- or four-year college degree specializing in Controls, Engineering, HVAC, or related discipline. Work experience in the field may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- Highly organized and able to work in a high-paced environment with strong prioritization skills.
- Full-time exempt salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
