Job Title: Associate Utilities Engineer

This role provides engineering support to all aspects of the infrastructure of the facility, including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical components. The Associate Utilities Engineer will develop and gain a deep understanding of water treatment systems, energy distribution, heat exchangers, HVAC, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in development, planning, and execution of all plant-related facility engineering activities
  • Analyzes system failures to determine source and cause
  • Participates in evaluating system conditions and developing long-term obsolescence and sustainability plans
  • Applies working knowledge of engineering disciplines and independently conceives and develops approaches to problem-solving
  • Plans and conducts small to medium-sized projects, including detailed project planning, budgeting, project reviews, implementation, validation, and release to production
  • Promotes and drives continuous improvement programs utilizing common problem-solving tools and methodologies in processes and procedures
  • Ensures delivery of effective performance management while establishing and sustaining a positive work environment
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering with a preference for a Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with engineering responsibility in a regulated industry, with preference being for food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.
  • Project planning experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a plant facilities maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of project planning tools and experience using them
  • Experience working with and implementing Continuous Improvement tools & methodologies

Abbott Laboratories offers a competitive compensation package, including a base pay of $48,000.00 – $96,000.00, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, wellness, and occupational health programs, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a generous company match.
