Job Overview:
Boeing Global Services is seeking a Lead Avionics Technician for F-18 Systems to join our team. This role involves working onsite at a military base, focusing on the maintenance and enhancement of F-18 avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the assembly, disassembly, and modification of avionics systems, ensuring the effective change, removal, replacement, or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components.
  • Oversee the configuration of aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Direct the troubleshooting of intricate hydraulic, avionics, and electrical systems to identify and rectify faults.
  • Manage validation and verification testing of systems and components.
  • Document procedures and processes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Inspect components and verify repairs to meet flight safety requirements.
  • Lead and mentor team members in the safe handling of aerospace vehicles.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
Technical Skills Required:
  • Proficient in performing connector terminations for various wiring types.
  • Understanding of routing instructions and harness handling.
  • Experience in sealing, wrapping, bonding, and closure of wire harnesses and cables.
  • Ability to troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems effectively.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications for electrical modifications and repairs.
  • Experienced with tooling assemblies for depot-level modifications and repairs.
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with fighter electrical and avionics modifications.
  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED, along with 7 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
