At St. Catherine's Center for Children, we seek a skilled Childcare Professional to create a therapeutic environment for infants and pre-school children in our Day Care program.


About Our Organization

We are a leading non-profit organization in New York's Greater Capital District, providing comprehensive human services to over 1,000 children, 600 families, and hundreds of adults annually. Our services include residential and therapeutic foster care programs, Kinship support, homeless and community-based services, a special education elementary school, and more.

Job Description

This role requires establishing and maintaining professional relationships with residents and staff, facilitating recreational activities and family-oriented programming, and providing age-appropriate developmental and recreational experiences for children.



  • Document interactions with families using critical incident reports and case files.
  • Collaborate with staff to provide recreational and educational activities for children and families.
  • Intervene in crisis situations and assist with conflict resolution.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Contribute to a client-supportive and respectful community.
  • Safeguard and maintain agency recreational equipment and space.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A High School diploma or GED required; College preferred.
  • Formal crisis intervention training a plus.
  • A clean and valid New York State Driver's License.
  • Self-confidence and good judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility in planning for future programming.
  • Previous experience working in a human services agency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
