About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Systems Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex HVAC systems across our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, air handlers, and pumps.
  • Perform advanced level preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls to identify and resolve issues.
  • Purchase and account for HVAC-related parts and materials, ensuring accurate inventory management and cost control.
  • Work with specialized computer applications to monitor and control HVAC systems, ensuring efficient operation and minimizing energy consumption.
  • Schedule, assign, and provide work direction to mechanics, maintenance personnel, and contractors related to HVAC system installation and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of our facilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or associate's degree preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license required.
  • At least six years of job-related experience, with a strong background in HVAC systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Master level knowledge and skills in HVAC systems, including ability to read prints, drawings, and schematics, and operate machine tools, motor vehicles, and hand/power tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical diploma, associate's degree, or two years of college coursework in a related field.
Working Conditions

This role requires an onsite presence on our Atlanta campus (100%). The work environment involves some physical risks that require following basic safety precautions. The position may be exposed to weather conditions, hazardous materials, fumes, dust/sawdust, hot surfaces, noise, rotating machinery, and high-pressure liquids or gases.
