Position Overview: Chief Concrete Estimator

The Chief Concrete Estimator is responsible for overseeing budget assessments and estimates for projects within the Michigan area, reporting directly to the Regional Director. This role entails managing the estimating process for all project bids while ensuring adherence to standardized procedures and training methodologies.

The Chief Concrete Estimator will analyze historical project performance to set future estimating standards and will assist in maintaining the historical cost database, bid management, and estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the regional Estimating team, providing guidance and support.
  • Participate in the bid review process to ensure accuracy and share best practices with the team.
  • Identify and assess project-specific risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the organization.
  • Create innovative and precise estimates that align with the company’s cost structure.
  • Implement the regional sales strategy, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with both new and existing clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in mentoring or leading a team.
  • Familiarity with Bid2Win estimating software or similar tools.
  • Experience in estimating for medium-to-large commercial and industrial projects.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a creative and results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with an adaptable style for working with diverse individuals.

Compensation and Benefits:
