Position Overview: Chief Estimator – Concrete

The Chief Estimator for Concrete is responsible for managing budgets and estimates within the Michigan area, reporting directly to the Regional Director. This role encompasses overseeing the estimating process for all project bids while ensuring adherence to standardized procedures, methodologies, and training protocols.

The Chief Estimator will analyze historical project performance to establish future estimating standards and will assist in the management and upkeep of the historical cost database, bid management systems, and estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the regional Estimating team, providing guidance and support.
  • Participate in the bid review process to ensure accuracy and provide training on best practices.
  • Identify and assess project-specific risks and their potential impacts on the organization, proposing strategies for mitigation.
  • Develop precise and innovative estimates that align with the company's cost structures.
  • Implement the regional sales strategy, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with both new and existing clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in team leadership or mentorship.
  • Familiarity with Bid2Win estimating software or similar tools.
  • Experience in estimating for medium-to-large commercial and industrial projects.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills, adaptable to various working styles.

Compensation and Benefits:
