About the Role:

The Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our Registration team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history.
  • Obtain patient authorization for consent and produce registration documents in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Collect self-pay balances, deductibles, and co-payments from patients.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage patient data and perform administrative tasks.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Verify the medical licensure of non-medical staff providers who order diagnostic tests.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, basic math, and data entry skills.
  • Associate's degree in business or healthcare management is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital patient access department or front desk physician's office is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
