About the Role

The Boston Public Health Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead the development of a new Office of Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of the complexities of domestic and sexual violence, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and supervise a Senior Program Manager to support the development of the new Office.
  • Build and maintain relationships with providers of services in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation/human trafficking, and partner abuse.
  • Develop and implement a strategic work plan in collaboration with programs within the Division of Violence Prevention and City and community agencies.
  • Participate in the City of Boston's Sexual Violence/Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Violence Prevention Management Team.
  • Advocate for onsite partners and document pathways to services and connections among providers.
  • Provide fiscal oversight of the new Office's budget and develop and submit grant applications.
  • Develop a logic model and evaluation metrics to ensure alignment with the Racial Justice and Health Equity goals of the Boston Public Commission.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on domestic and sexual violence prevention.
  • Strong understanding of the complexities of domestic and sexual violence and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
