Job Title: Field Application Engineer

G&W Electric is a global leader in engineered electrical power grid solutions, and we're seeking a highly skilled Field Application Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We're looking for a talented individual to work as part of our sales team, collaborating with application engineers and product managers to successfully demonstrate our products, articulate our competitive differentiators, and facilitate Q&A sessions to gather technical and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers throughout the sales cycle, including product demonstrations, training sessions, and phone and email support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the sales team, application engineers, product managers, and independent sales representatives to ensure seamless bid process coordination.
  • Assist application engineers in completing quotations and negotiating final pricing based on competitive market information.
  • Determine technical and commercial requirements for complex quotations and provide information to application engineers to complete quotes.
  • Support the application process for strategic customers and coordinate customer training at G&W facilities or customer sites.
  • Develop training materials, including PowerPoints and documentation, to support customer training.
  • Prepare sales tools and documents in concert with product management to support the sales team.
  • Host and manage customer visits to G&W facilities associated with presale activities or training.
  • Provide monthly reports on opportunities, customer feedback, new requirements, and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in application engineering or a comparable role.
  • Excellent presentation, phone, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical writing and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
