Position Overview: Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Manufacturing Engineer to engage directly on the production floor and to establish best practices aimed at enhancing and optimizing manufacturing operations. This role will require you to act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the introduction of new manufacturing technologies and equipment, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and refine manufacturing workflows
- Design and implement new manufacturing and inspection methodologies for machining, welding, and electromechanical assembly
- Enhance and innovate fixtures, tooling, routings, and work instructions
- Identify and rectify the root causes of quality issues stemming from current processes
- Recommend improvements for plant layout and workflow
- Research and propose new manufacturing technologies and equipment to drive cost efficiency and productivity
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in collaboration with Program Managers and Project Engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering
- Background in the aerospace or defense industry
- Experience in a job shop or made-to-order environment is preferred
- Proficient in developing and enhancing processes for machining, welding, and electromechanical assembly
- Demonstrated ability in creating manufacturing processes and tooling
- Capable of establishing engineering standards to optimize engineering workflows
- Adept at interpreting engineering drawings with knowledge of GD&T
- Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
Additional Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
