DEKA Research and Development is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Developer to drive the development and improvement of complex mechanical assemblies transitioning from design to manufacturing.

This key role requires collaboration with the engineering team, operations team, materials team, customers, and partners to ensure seamless process development and implementation.

As a Manufacturing Process Developer, you will:

  • Work closely with the engineering team to develop robust, production-ready designs
  • Develop and maintain bill of materials, line layout, production control methods, clear assembly instructions, fixtures, and PFMEA's
  • Plan, conduct, and execute pre-production builds with a focus on volume production
  • Consult with suppliers to determine product specifications and work with the supply chain team to purchase equipment, materials, and parts
  • Interface with manufacturing partners for all stages of design transfer to ensure products meet performance criteria
  • Troubleshoot pre-production medical devices and support ongoing test efforts

Requirements for this role include:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred)
  • Solidworks experience, CSWA or other certification a plus
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability and/or Design Transfer
  • Previous hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices
  • Knowledge of component forming processes, assembly processes, and production line optimization
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles (prior experience preferred)
  • Passionate about understanding how things work and solving tough technical problems
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
